A NEW action group is being set up for Middlewich
cyclists to have their say on the town’s facilities and encourage more people to
get peddling.
Middlewich Cycling Action Group (MCAG) is looking for people of all ages and abilities.

David Williams, who helped establish the team, said: “Middlewich offers some great cycling, particularly along the upgraded canal towpaths and there are national and regional cycle routes that run through the town.
“So this group wants to make residents more aware of what is available and to encourage more people to get on their bike.
“It’s a great way of getting fit without forking out for gym memberships and you could also save a packet on petrol.
“We want real improvements in the roads and cycle paths around the town and working with Cheshire East Council to create routes that cyclists can use without having to go on busy roads.”
MCAG has ties with South East Cheshire Cycling Action Group, which covers Middlewich, Alsager, Congleton, Holmes Chapel and Sandbach.I had to take time off the vuittonhandbags to recover from the head cold.

David Buckley said: “I commute every day by bike to get to Midpoint 18 and I’d like to see a route for cyclists that takes us away from Lewin Street and Holmes Chapel Road.
“At the moment I have to negotiate muddy paths and lift my bike over a gate to stay away from these very busy roads.”
Paul Mottram added: “I cycle to Sandbach and have been really affected by the street light switch off on Booth lane.
“I want the council to be doing more to make cycling safe and this new action group will help highlight what is needed”.
