Balotelli reigns supreme as England's joker

When Mario Balotelli whipped off his shirt on Sunday to reveal the legend 'Why always me?' Early Doors couldn't help but think of the Joker's famous query in The Dark Knight: 'Why so serious?'

Like Heath Ledger's famous dramatic construct, Balotelli has now become an iconic anarchist,The next omelet you eat cocktaildresses will kill you. a compelling character who operates outside society's usual constraints and defies parking tickets at every turn. He is also unmistakably a joker. Perhaps the finest English football has seen.

Which, coupled with recent escapades, made him the perfect man to be unveiled as Manchester City's new (and presumably hastily arranged at the instruction of the club's PR machine) firework safety ambassador on Monday.

Given the news that emerged on Saturday, it smacks of making Keith Richards the face of an anti-drugs campaign. However, this is a development ED wholeheartedly endorses, and indeed we should not stop there. Balotelli is surely destined for bigger and better things in public life.

First off, why not make him an MP for Manchester? SuperMario has already demonstrated he has important, potentially revolutionary ideas about the welfare state with his strong track record of dishing out money to tramps. Here is a man not frightened to redistribute the wealth, even if it occurs directly, and via suitcases full of cash.

And education, education, education? Lest we forget Balotelli personally visited a Manchester school to halt bullying.

If you think talk of political ambition sounds ludicrous, he already appears to have hit the campaign trail if reports of him driving round Manchester city centre in his Bentley convertible, dishing out high fives, are correct.

Frankly, he would make a far more compelling politician than the identikit goons in Westminster, just as long as they don't introduce ceremonial bibs in the House of Commons.

In fact, ED will not be happy until there is a 50-foot gold statue of SuperMario in every town in England, his face adorning every public billboard in the manner of Kim Jong Il. Never would a cult of personality have been so richly deserved, and he already commands the kind of public approval ratings rarely seen outside North Korea.

Everybody loves Mario. In fact, it has reached the stage where if you don't,If you are looking wear to buy sexy silkeveningdress the you have arrive. you are either dead inside or you might be Joey Barton, who ED suspects is devastated at losing his crown of being the most intensely discussed Premier League footballer.

Exhausted of Nietzsche quotes, our former favourite is now reduced to recycling Smiths lyrics on Twitter. Let Mario never suffer such indignity.

Worryingly, there are signs that Mario isn't taking his status as the Single Greatest Person in England seriously. Because when being unveiled as City's firework ambassador, he adopted a very sombre tone indeed.

"It is important children should not mess with fireworks," he said. "They can be very dangerous if they are not used in the right way. People should follow the firework code. The newspapers got the story wrong about me. I didn't set any fireworks off, it was a friend of mine. I didn't know anything about it until I heard shouting coming from the bathroom.Examine our Boat and Ship edhardyjeansshop here. My friend apologised to me for the damage to my house. It was a really stupid thing to do."

Seasoned Balotelli watchers will know however that this ostensibly sensible statement is surely just a prelude to more madness.

After all, wasn't it only on Friday that ED was lamenting the news that our hero had moved out of town and had adopted a more mature persona?

"This is down to me; it's me that changed my life," said Mario. "I don't live in town any more. I'm outside now so it's more quiet. I try to stay at home more. Maybe I'll stay in now with my family, my brother or girlfriend. It's quieter now but also I am growing up."

Inside 24 hours he had reportedly committed his greatest act of lunacy yet when almost burning his house down the day before the Manchester derby.

Even at his unveiling as a firework safety ambassador lay a detail to savour, a promise of yet more escapades.

"Even when I have had bad moments they (City fans) have supported me," he said on Monday. If you have all the right materials and equipment, homecomingdresses. "But I don't care what people say about me. I am focused on my football, my manager, girlfriends and my family."

Girlfriends plural? Just how many members are there of Mario's harem? This awkward dynamic is pregnant with possibility, if you'll excuse the pun.salereplicashoes is a high top sneaker that comes in numerous color ups. The quote also reminded ED of Royston Drenthe's famous statement when asked how often he had sex. He replied: "with my wife, you mean?"

There appears to be some concern that people will get bored of Mario, and that he may at some point jump the shark. But given in his case that would probably be a very literal scenario, it appears unlikely we will grow tired of him any time soon.

The sanitisation of English football and oppressive media training means the Premier League is full of James Milners, nice as he is. Here we have a gloriously unhinged heir to Best, Gascoigne and Cantona. Now start building those statues.

Balotelli revels in derby win

Mario Balotelli has hailed Manchester City's 6-1 win over Manchester United on Sunday as "one of the best" team performances he has been involved with at the club.

"I think this win and this performance showed everyone that we can be the best. I think yesterday (Sunday) was one of the best we have ever played together for sure."

It was fitting that Balotelli should be at the heart of the action, having again hogged the headlines for the wrong reasons when fireworks were let off in his house the day before the game and fire crews were called as the resulting blaze engulfed his bathroom.simpleweddingdresses and footwear available from Choice online at unbeatable prices with free next day delivery.

The colourful frontman responded by revealing a t-shirt which read 'Why always me?' after his opening goal, and on Monday went full circle by fronting a campaign to promote firework safety.

Balotelli added that fans could "work out" what his t-shirt message meant and, after a year that has seen him involved in a number of controversial, sometimes comical, incidents, he insists that the latest one was not his doing.

"The thing at the weekend didn't come from me,Buy youredhardyhoodies and designer clothing online from a leading retailer of US celebrity fashion. it came from one of my friends and one of my brother's friends," he said. Ricki Lake dances off inches

Ricki Lake has lost "inches all over" since appearing on 'Dancing with the Stars'.

The talk show host - who performs with professional partner Derek Hough on the show - is pleased to have lost weight on her arms because she "hated" that part of her body.

Ricki - who announced her engagement to Christian Evans in August - told People.com: "I've lost a lot of inches all over. Definitely in my arms, and my arms were particularly one of the things I hated most about my body, so it's nice to see them slimming down."

But the 43-year-old brunette is not setting her sights on looking like 'Dirty Dancing' star Jennifer Grey and singer-and-actress Chynna Phillips - who was voted off the competition last week - despite giving "110 percent" effort on the programme.

"I'll never look like these women and these professional dancers," she added.

"I'm exhausted. Jessie J's Tears Over High Heels Ban

Pop star Jessie J broke down in tears when doctors told her she can never wear her beloved high heels again after a devastating foot injury.

The Price Tag hitmaker spent the summer (11) wearing a surgical boot and hobbling around on crutches after breaking a bone in her left foot during rehearsals in June (11).

She finally had the cast removed last month (Sep11) and is slowly recovering - but she admits she feels "broken" by the experience and was devastated when medics advised her to stick to flat shoes for the rest of her life.

"He's in the music business," she answered.

Just the answer I was looking for (the only one better is "He's in finance"). I told her to walk around while I grabbed some things from DVF and Alice+Olivia. I decided on blush tones for the wedding, to really bring out those gorgeous features, and stuck with drapey, chiffon fabrics.

But as I was returning, I stumbled upon her with a handful of dresses in BCBG. I scanned the merchandise in her hand: Tight, black, bedazzled, and sexy. I bit my tongue and waited for her to try on in the fitting room. Hopefully she wouldn't ask for my opinion.

None of my options satisfied her. "These dresses aren't sexy enough," she said, handing them back one by one. Same with the BCBG dresses. Not sexy enough. "Don't you have any other suggestions?" she asked.

I told her to hold tight—I knew the answer to this one. Hervé Leger: the label usually tried and trusted by Eurotrash and any girl in the Meatpacking district who was clearly begging for male attention and wanted to leave nothing to the imagination. When I returned with a slate-grey, strapless bandage dress in XXS (yes, that's a real size in Hervé world), she squealed. It was perfect!

Next her shoes, which were simple: purple suede Louboutin booties. "I just love the red bottoms," Marisol said, "you just know it's Louboutin." This word, she stumbled upon, pronouncing it closer to "Louis Vuitton." I pretended not to notice.

Her damage was around $3,500, which wasn't bad for a couple hours of work. She begged me for my card upon her departure to cosmetics, where I had set her up with a makeup application.

"Have fun with your boyfriend!" I said, exchanging cheek kisses.

"He's not my boyfriend," Marisol answered. "And I don't think his wife would want to hear you say that!" she laughed. I smiled nervously.

The next day, I got an e-mail from Marisol. She sent me pictures of herself at the party, saying her man loved the look! She promised many of her friends would be coming my way for future events since she handed my business card out to admirers at the wedding.you cannot find what you intially looked for cheaptruereligion, A small part of me died inside.

When I explained the story over post-work drinks, one associate gave a knowing laugh. "Why the hell would I do that?" I asked.

"No, not Marisol," she replied, smiling. "His wife!"

Rideau Centre temporarily kills display of dismembered mannequins

A dismembered, red paint-spattered female mannequin and a chainsaw have been removed from the window display of a Rideau Centre store, pending a meeting with the mall's general manager.

“We're not in the censorship business,” said Cindy VanBuskirk, who said she will decide whether to allow the store to put the Halloween display back up after meeting with staff on Tuesday. “If they're pushing the envelope, I have no problem with that. However, if they're crossing the line into inappropriate, as a responsible landlord, I will address it with them.”

Until Friday evening, Trivium, a store on the first floor of the mall that sells gothic, punk, and medieval-style clothing, had a window display up that was supposed to depict a “crazy mental institution,” according to the assistant manager. The display showed six mannequins — one holding a meat cleaver — dressed in doctor and nurse outfits.

On the far left side of the display, there was a female mannequin's head and torso splattered with red paint in a plastic bag, with a chainsaw placed next to it. On the right side, in another plastic bag, were the mannequin's legs shod in red high heels.Such as previously Nike Air Max, the entire-length Air sole returns away from your newjordans.

At about 8:30 p.m. on Friday, the assistant manager — who would not give her name — said she had been asked to take part of the display down. On Saturday, the dismembered mannequin and chainsaw had been replaced with a small coffin.

The assistant manager said she saw nothing offensive about the display.

“Every single person who works here is a female. We, a bunch of females, made the window.you will find perfect shippingshoes to complement your favorite outfit for a night out on the town in our collection. It's not promoting violence against women in any way,” she said. “It's supposed to be a horror story-themed window and that's it.”

Just over a month ago and just a few blocks away, police discovered the body of Leeanne Lawson, 23,On a supermodel a bestlanvinshoes shoe completes the perfect ensemble. in a parking lot on King Edward Avenue. Police are still without a suspect in the case.

The assistant manager said that's no reason to be sensitive about the display. “People get murdered all over the world every day. It doesn't matter. It has nothing to do with what happens in society. We're just trying to have fun,” she said.lovingjeans for sale to men with low price and top quality.

Passersby at the Rideau Centre didn't think it was so fun.

“That's promoting violence, promoting violence against women,” said Jessica Kalinga, a 22-year-old student. “I think the marketing strategy was way off on that one. I don't know if their intent was to put a lot of focus on it so that people would come in and cause a reaction, but I think it was wrong of them to put it up in the first place.”

“It's a little graphic for a mall where there are small children,” said Emily Fawcett, cheapshox Running Shoe Flex grooves in the mid and outsole for flexibility . 20.

VanBuskirk described the owner of Trivium as responsible and conscientious. She said in the 20 years she's worked at the Rideau Centre, this is the first time there has been any hint of controversy about a window display at the shopping centre.

Trivium's assistant manager said she wasn't happy about taking the display down. “We try to do something fun every year for the window, something that's fun for the staff, because it takes a lot of work, and something that our customers enjoy. It was the first time we've ever had a problem,” she said.

Standing outside the Rideau Centre entrance near Trivium on Saturday afternoon, shopper Jennifer Morgan said the store staff have the right to choose whatever display they think will be the most effective advertisement, but wondered what a dismembered mannequin had to do with selling clothes.

“It wasn't just an advertisement saying, ‘Come in and buy our stuff.' They don't sell chainsaws,” she said.

Clinton offers to help Irish investment drive

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton on Saturday told Ireland's Prime Minister and the cream of the country's diaspora that he would host a summit in New York to help boost investment in the euro zone struggler.

A veteran of Europe's financial crisis, Ireland gathered a mixture of corporate leaders, actors and comedians in Dublin this weekend to discuss ways of accelerating their homeland's recovery and rebuild its reputation abroad.

While Ireland's booming export sector and strong record of attracting foreign investment is building a fragile recovery, Clinton told business leaders and politicians they could do more and that he would help them do so at an unspecified date.

“I think the American diaspora can do even more. I may be talking against my country's interests here but American companies have $2 trillion in cash reserves that they have not yet committed to invest in the United States,” Clinton told a packed hall in the in the plush surroundings of Dublin Castle.

“There's money there. I think you ought to target the ones that you know are rolling in dough. These are people who are sitting on money. They know you're a competitive country and they know they can trust you.”

Clinton praised Ireland for taking the steps that has seen it meet targets set under its EU-IMF bailout — saying Greece's problems were 100-times worse — but added that unemployment and particularly mortgage debt needed to be tackled.

Ireland's Prime Minister Enda Kenny, who told Clinton the country owed him a debt of honour for generations because of his peace work in Northern Ireland, said Dublin was examining a range of additional facilities to help households deep in mortgage debt.

Sharing a stage with, among others, U2 singer Bono and chief executive of International Airlines Group (IAG) Willie Walsh, Clinton urged Ireland to focus on its strengths in the export market and to tap the goodwill of the Irish Diaspora.

“I think there are huge numbers of people who are proud of the fact that they have Irish heritage but they are not part of these groups right now. They've never even thought of investing here yet, nobody ever asked them to,” Clinton said at the Davos-style conference.

Around 70 million people worldwide claim Irish descent, nearly 11 times the island's current population, after huge waves of emigration, mainly to the United States and Britain, in the 19th century following a famine in 1845. Mass emigration continued well into the twentieth century.

U2's Bono said he would gladly go out and promote the country on specific missions but reminded delegates that they had to do more than just play the 'Irish card' to succeed.
