Embattled women to inspire through sharing their stories

“One Gospel approached me with the idea of the show. I think it had to do with my show on radio called Sacred Space,” said media person- ality Thami Ngubeni of her new TV show, The Scarlett Lounge.

“The show will be about women and the issues they encounter. We talk about their pain, loss, success, all the things they can share in their personal experiences.”

One Gospel, a Christian channel on DStv, has numerous local shows hosted by different celebrities and The Scarlett Lounge was created to focus on Christian women.

“Look, essentially we will be speaking to women, but the show is not limited to them. We are inviting the men into out sacred space to help them understand us more.

“There are a lot of women who have had to overcome something and we love sharing those kind of stories. “We are simply looking for women with stories. Women who have had to overcome something.

Through gospel music videos, Bible studies and talks with guests, the show advises its viewers on spiritual and other life matters.

“I’d love those who watch it to feel lighter in spirit as they are encouraged by heart-to-heart conversations and devotionals on women of the Bible who dared to believe, to love and to live free,” said the show’s producer, Dana Tsasandkis.

To make the show more accessible to her viewers, Ngubeni will use her radio show to link in with the TV show, meaning that the topics discussed on TV can then be discussed later on her radio show, Sacred Space.

“We will run a parallel between the two shows and give people the chance to react to the topics at hand,” said Ngubeni.
