Boys and Girls Club of Glassboro kicks off annual clothing drive

The Boys and Girls Club of Glassboro are extending a helpful hand as it kicked off its second annual clothing drive Wednesday at the group's building in Glassboro.

The clothing drive is looking to bring in donations not only for articles of clothing,Buy Cheap Armani Kids Clothings for sale but food items,Cheapest Jewellery Online school supplies and any toys the community is willing to offer. For Ben Stephens, the executive director for the Boys and Girls Club of Glassboro, after running the event last year, he knew it would help just as much this year.

"This is something we collaborated on last year and it was a big success," said Stephens who pointed at the nation's bad economy as the main reason why many people came last year. Stephens said that the drive, which was scheduled to go from about 7 p.Cheapest Scarves salem.Best Armani Shirts for sale to 9 p.m., kept him at the Glassboro club house until midnight last year and he plans to do the same this year with the drive possibly extending to the weekend.

"The need is still there," said Stephens of the drive. "The biggest part is the kids."

The drive is also a joint effort with the Rowan Christian Fellowship offering their aid to the project. After the two groups' success last year, the fellowship was definitely looking to collaborate on it again according to Brianna Campos, president of the Rowan Christian Fellowship.

"It's a team effort," said Campos of the fellowship's involvement.Cheap Paulsmith Silk Scarves for sale

"They were just absolutely willing. It was amazing last year."

And as Campos and the rest of her staff worked organizing and helping out people walking in, Campos remembered a story of last year about a little girl worrying about the price of one of the items she wanted to take home.

"She asks, ‘How much do I have to pay for this?' I said, ‘It's 100% off.'" The slogan was then turned into a sign that was displayed on a piece of paper on the building's glass door entrance.

Stephanie Jacobs, a member of the fellowship, is glad the drive grew into more than a clothes drive and expressed the importance of reaching out to the community.
